WELCOME TO THE BLOG

Hey friends!!! Jess here! This is my very first blog post so if you’re a frequent blog reader, bare with me! Here’s a litle bit about us: My husband, Colton, and I are a traveling wedding photo/video duo based in UT. We have a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd (pictured above) named Moose, and we are obsessed with him (also pictured above). We have been married for 2.5 years (yes we got a dog after being married for only a few months) and have been a photo/video duo for about 2 years now. I, Jess, and 26 years old and Colton is 23. Some would say I’m a cougar and that’s okay lol. Colton and I met in 2020 during the pandemic. Luckily we didn’t have to go on any Covid dates (ya know, the ones where you’re wearing masks or are 6 feet apat). We got engaged after 6 months of dating and then married 4 months after that on February 19, 2021. We share an anniversary date with my grandparents! We started our business in June of 2021, when I picked up one of Colton’s DSLR cameras and took some photos of Moose and my sister/brother-in-law. (See below)

I’ve come pretty far in photography (or at least I hope!) Since then we’ve shot over 100 weddings together and it has been a BLAST! When I tell you we are so lucky to have this job, I’m not kidding. Sure there are tough times, wedding season can be brutal, but I’m so grateful for every wedding, client, session, and photo. I’m also so grateful for Colton, shoutout to the best husband/biz partner!!! I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without him.

SOME FUN FACTS…

Jess

• Jess was born in Washington while her dad was in his Radiology Residency and lived there until she was almost 4.
• Her favorite colors are pink and lilac purple.
• She has 5 siblings (4 sisters and 1 brother)
• She served an LDS mission in Mendoza Argentina and loved it
• She has an associates in Science from UVU
• Her favorite food is mexican tacos, specifically the carnitas ones
• If Colton were to describe her in 3 words they would be: empathetic, hard-working, and loving

Col:

• Col’s full name is Colton Mckay Sosa Rich, quite a mouthful 😉
• Col was born in West Jordan and lived there until he married Jess in 2021
• He was adopted into his family and has 2 twin siblings
• His favorite colors are burnt orange and turkish blue (you’ll want to google that)
• He was in a serious car crash when he was 15 and had a craniotomy (that’s where his sick scar is from)
• He served an LDS mission in Medellin Columbia for 18 months (He was sent home early due to the pandemic)
• If Jess were to describe him in 3 words they would be: goofy, humble, and creative
